My DD will be starting at a TAG Center next year for 3rd grade. She has been at a public school that provides TAG in the classroom instruction for 2nd grade. If you had a child go to a TAG Center after having been in a different type of TAG instruction, was there a transition period? Was the curriculum more intense? Was there more homework, etc? What was your child's biggest adjustment? THANKS!
My now-middle schooler switched at 3rd grade. There was definitely more work, but here's my twofold though about that. One, this is the age when kids transition from learning to read to reading to learn. Two, the workload picks up a bit no matter where you are. It's definitely an adjustment, and can be a little bumpy. Bumpy doesn't mean something is wrong.
PP again. The biggest difference (and it's a good one) was that my kid wasn't being singled out for being ahead of the material.
