Expectant and Postpartum Moms
Hi -I would love to join a class but have no idea where there is one close to me. Also, not an experienced yoga person..just trying to keep healthy while pregnant. Any advise would be great!
Sun & Moon Yoga on Lee Highway in Arlington may be close to you depending on where in McLean you are. There are prenatal classes on Saturday and Sunday, and I believe one is offered on Friday night. I've never had a problem showing up and paying the drop-in class fee ($18) - there has always been space in the class. You can also enroll for an entire session, but the winter session has already begun...There are a couple of yoga places in McLean, but I've never seen a pre-natal course on the schedules...
honestly I just got a prenatal yoga video for $11 from amazon. I've only used it 3-4 times but it is worth it. I am not a yoga person either but this way I didn't have to fit a class into my schedule or drive to it and can do it when I feel totally stressed. It is easy too.
hi there--thanks for the info--think I will try both!! In regards to video--what video did you buy since you like it so much??? Thanks again!
PP here--I bought Prenatal Yoga with Shiva Rea. It is a little hippy/slow talking in that yoga, out-of-body way that most yoga videos are, but only at the beginning. The cool thing is they have 3 models, one for each trimester of pregnancy, so I like that.
PS my husband even does it with me sometimes! It's funny because he runs all the time and can definitely out-lift me, but I can still touch my toes better than he can and I'm 8 months pregnant! Women are usually more flexible than men anyway. We have different strengths, that's for sure.
