Happy at Churchill?

We're looking at buying a house there, as well as looking in other HS boundaries. Maybe this sounds crazy, but I read reviews about designer drugs and entitled kids and wonder if people are generally happy there.

You look at any high SES school and you'll find designer drugs and entitled kids.

Are you poor? If so, don't move to this school. You better have 2 really nice cars and 2 homes. And a butler.

It's a great school. People on this board will give you a hard time because it's a wealthier area.

This kind of thing doesn't help:

Churchill IS a great school. A new US News report has it in the top 100 schools in US (with Whitman being another). Yes, many wealthy families go to this school, which is part of what raises the bar. But there are also many "regular" families who go to this school. Lots of houses in the Potomac area are not mansions lol! Our house is 2500 square feet. I know even smaller houses, with no garages. They are still pricey however. You hear a lot of people refer to it as a "pressure cooker," but what academically rigorous high school is not a pressure cooker? You make it what you want it to be.

I say this even though my DC will not be attending. We have decided to do single sex private, but Churchill was definitely on our list.
