Ethan Allen sectional couch. I cannot clean this thing!

Anonymous
Last year we splurged and bought a $9k Ethan Allen couch in hopes that it would last. We specifically told the lady that being easy to clean and stain resistant was our number one priority. Well lets just say that we have tried every specialized cleaner to get marks off the couch and nothing works. What the hell? Its fabric and we can't use anything water based. Every specialized cleaner we have used for the couch makes the spot look worse and leaves a ring around it. Any advice?

Professional cleaning? Also, I would call them and complain since you told them your # 1 priority was "easy to clean."

FYI, I have a everyday suede and I am in love with that stuff so far. First day it was here a guest spilled a glass of red wine on it, I put on the washer and it was gone. My child wrote on it with a pen - paper towel damped with warm water and gone! Love it so far.

NP here. I agree with PP to call and ask the dealer for recommendations and complain to a manager.

I have a $2000 IKEA leather couch and it's not my forever couch, but it's my "till my kids are grown" couch. Geez, that thing held up to my toddler dumping a half gallon of grape juice on it. It's all I can do not to bow down and worship it.

Op here. I do want to complain but really what are they going to do? I already called them a few months ago asking for recommendations on professional cleaning services and I was quite surprised by their lack of connections/info. Just pisses me off that we spent so much for a well made couch that we love and it literally cannot be cleaned ugh. I have two more products in going to try from amazon. Then I will have to talk to someone at ethan allen about how we were mislead.

Why didn't you buy the fabric protection plan when you purchased the furniture? I've purchased upholstered goods from 3 different EA stores, and was always offered a plan (which we bought, since we had kids).
