Paint Color Anxiety

Anonymous
I need to have my kitchen and dining room painted. They are both fairly open to the living room area, which is painted in BM Rich Cream, which is a creamy white with some yellow in it. I was thinking about Revere Pewter for my dining room, but when I painted a sample board and hung it I realized that it looked a lot closer to beige than gray and really not very different than the Rich Cream that it would be joined with.

Has anyone used a gray recently that they have been pleased with? Since it will merge into a warm cream color, I assume I should pick something on the warm side?

I'd love some recommendations! Thank you!

Look up the BM rich cream color swatch and get your ideas from that in terms of coordinating colors.

Exactly, this. Look at sombrero, cotswold urban nature, estruscan, sea star. Would any if those work?

Check out BM Gray Owl -- the OC/off white one, not the other one. I painted our bedroom in Revere Pewter on the advice of pretty much everyone on the internet, and it is definitely beige. Gray Owl is closer to what I wanted.

Thanks PP! I am going to pick up a sample tonight.

Stonington Gray is nice too.

Seattle Gray has a hint of blue on it -- very soothing.
