| Do any dcum'ers know of anyone who have had a combined tummy tuck and partial hysterectomy? I have a diastisis and a uterine prolapse and I'm wondering if I could have them fixed simultaneously. I'm thinking I'd need a gynecologist and a plastic surgeon that work together but I could save on surgical expenses and possibly recovery time. Any insight or experience with this is appreciated. |
| That sounds like it would be a brutal surgery. Not sure if a reputable plastic surgeon would go for it. |
| I asked about the possibility of an oophorectomy with my c-section, and my ob said that would be too much at one time and wouldn't be done. Don't know about your situation, but it might be a similar situation. |
The lady who cleans my house had both, but at separate times. She had to wait a full year after the hysterectomy to get the TT. Doc said too much at once. FWIW, both recoveries where brutal for her and I mean BRUTAL. |
| I have heard of someone (amalah) who got a tummy tuck at the same time as fixing an umbilical hernia, fwiw... |
| Hysterectomy recovery isn't "brutal" if you have it done laprascopically. It's not "fun" -- but definitely not "brutal". It was better than recovering from normal childbirth. |
+1 My long recovery from an emergency c-section + multiple large fibroids myomectomy all together surgery was way more "brutal" than my hysterectomy. I wouldn't get a tummy tuck at the same time though. |
