I want to go to Montgomery Mall today and will need to take my toddler. Are there any playgrounds nearby where I can take him afterwards, as a reward for being cooperative? (I'll be driving from NW DC, so I'd be happy with anything en route--though closer to the mall is better.)
Thanks! |

How about the playground at Cabin John Park? I've been there with kids aged 3 and 5, but I think there might be enough for a toddler, too.
7400 Tuckerman Lane, Rockville, MD. http://www.mc-mncppc.org/parks/facilities/regional_parks/cabinjohn/ Playground info: http://www.mc-mncppc.org/parks/park_of_the_day/aug/parkday_aug19.shtm There's also the Locust Grove Nature Center: http://www.mc-mncppc.org/parks/nature_centers/locust/index.shtm Come April, the miniature train in Cabin John park will be up and running again, but for now it's closed: http://www.mc-mncppc.org/parks/enterprise/park_facilities/trains/cabin_john.shtm |
| There is also the indoor play area at the mall. It's near Sears. |
| OP here. Didn't make it to the mall after all, but really appreciate all the suggestions--particularly the indoor play area, which I had never noticed before (never go to that mall, or when I do I'm in a tearing hurry). I'll definitely use this advice in the future. |
