DH and I cannot agree on our next show to watch... We have Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon, so lots of options. We like to binge watch several seasons of a show at a time (i.e., an hour every night until we have finished that show). Options we have thrown out but one of us has vetoed without actually watching (although open to why you love it to see if one of us will change our minds!): Madam Secretary, Bloodline, Nashville, Scandal. What would you recommend for us to try? Here is what we have seen:
Love: Wire New Girl Parenthood Friday Night Lights Orange is the New Black Downton Abbey (haven't seen most recent season, but can't figure out how to stream it yet) Like: Game of Thrones House of Cards Arrested Development (except the last season) Good Wife Awkward Don't Like (at least after trying a few episodes): Broad City Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Veep Gillmore Girls |
| Loved Peaky Blinders. |
| Homeland. |
|
Wayward pines (new show but I read the books and they were great)
Orphan Black (BBC America about clones) |
|
Justified (on amazon).
Battlestar Galactica (netflix). hell on wheels (amc/netflix) love these! more like wire or orange/black, in terms of grittiness. bg- no grittiness, but a great story line. |
| "Bosch" was great (based off author Michael Connelly's detective character.) Not sure what channel. |
This was my post. I think Amazon. |
| Offspring on Hulu. It's an Australian show, a bit of a dramedy. |
| SPIRAL on Netflix. The Wire set in Paris. Well, almost. But it's good. |
|
Outlander
Nashville The West Wing Felicity The Americans China Beach |
| The ESPN 30 for 30 films are excellent. Highly recommend. |
|
The Americans
The Shield Southland |
| Luther on Netflix. It's a BBC drama. Amazing but dark... |
And perfect for you since you loved The Wire. (Star of the show is Idris Elba aka Stringer Bell) |
| Sherlock on Netflix |
