| We're doing a beach trip instead of a party for my kid who has a summer birthday. We've never been to the Delaware beaches. Is there somewhere that would be fun for a kid-centered dinner or that does a big deal with a cake? |
| Grotto pizza in West Bethany has a game room with tickets, balloons and gelato. And pizza of course. There are other locations too. |
| Just bring candles and matches with you so you are prepared even if the restaurant isn't. Maybe Mango's? I think we heard them sing happy birthday there last year (but their food is pretty mediocre...but a nice view of the ocean). |

I can't think of anywhere that will sing happy birthday, but one of my kids' favorite restaurants is Fat Tuna's on Atlantic Avenue in Ocean View. Someone else already mentioned Grottos (kids love their pizza) and Mango's, which has a great view, but my kids aren't fans.
If you felt like going up to Rehoboth, there is a Grottos on the boardwalk (and also a Green Turtle) and down a couple of blocks is Fun Land. |
| We've done birthday dessert at Dumser's in OC or Royal Treat in Rehoboth...both are easy drives from Bethany (where we stay). They are sort of like old fashioned ice cream parlours. You could do rides and games at funland in rehoboth before or after. |
| Bethany Blues (BBQ) is good for kids. |
+1 for dumsers |
| If you happen to be heading down to Assateague the crab house down there has a big game room and a good menu for both adults and kids. It's closed right now but will oen for the season. http://assateaguecrabhouse.com/index.html |
