Cuddling

My 9 year old daughter and 12 year old son love to cuddle before bed and when I wake them in the morning. My friend says they are too old for this??? Thoughts?

Your friend is high on crack. My 12 yr old DD loves to sit in my lap, she loves for me to lay in bed with her at night and read to her for a bit, etc.

She will never be too old for either as far as I'm concerned.

kids really are never too old to be cuddled. I knew a 21 year old male whose dad was like "ok son, time to stop getting into bed with your mother in the morning" it broke his heart.

I only stopped cuddling my mother in the mornings when she had a new baby and I was a teen. (female teen)

My 9 yr old DS loves to cuddle at night when I go in to say goodnight. He likes to cuddle and chat. I know it's going to come to an end soon. I don't think it's weird at all. I say hold on to it for as long as you can.

My 7 year old son loves to cuddle still and I don't see him wanting it to end anytime soon. I do see, however, it could be interpreted as a little odd.

My 8 year old still likes to cuddle before bed. Not in the AM, just because it's too crazy! I'm holding on to that as long as possible!

Thanks for asking this OP... I "snuggle" my kids at night and in the morning (they are 8 and 11) and I thought maybe I needed to stop. I'm pleasantly surprised at how many others are still cuddling... but I can't imagine cuddling a teen boy. that seems weird. It's already a little questionable with my 8 yr old son.

They do seem to like physical affection before sleeping even if they don't want to be hugged during the day.
