Do paint shops offer this service? I need help with paint color selections only for my home. Terrified of making these decisions alone. |
There's another thread on this today. http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/469208.page |
Yes, the Benjamin Moore paint centers all have a color person on staff. |
The problem with the people on staff is that they can't come to your house and see your stuff and your light. I do really like Benjamin Moore paints but the staff people can't give you a ton of help without seeing your place.
As per a recommendation on this board I hired Colleen of RedBird ReDesign to come to my house that we were painting before we moved in. She was super helpful and I think I spent less than $350 for several hours of her time -- which compared to the cost of repainting a room that didn't turn out well was well worth it! |
The Ben Moore person at Strosnider's in Bethesda has a side business (her cards are on display in the shop). When she's not working in the store she will come to your house. Her name is Carla. She's quite nice and very helpful. |
I'm pretty sure Farrow and Ball does in home consultations. I know there is a store in Friendship Heights. |
It's the Color Wheel in McLean. They carry both F&B and BM. The consultant will come to your house with large samples. When I found an F&B color I loved, the consultant encouraged me to pick a close BM color. Since it was the main color for the whole house, she saved me a lot of money. Years later, I can't tell the difference between what I have and what I wanted. She also suggested I do a smaller room in FB so that I still got one room with that deep color experience. |
We used this woman twice. She was dynamite!
