Southern Charm-addicted!

Anonymous
As much as I did not want to like the show I can't help myself I'm addicted to it! Maybe it's because my husband hails from an old Charleston family that I'm particularly intrigued at this insiders take- here the characters that I like

Cameron-I think she's sweet sometimes however her overly mother and approach gets on my nerves, pretty girl who seems to be grounded and not very affected

Whitney- can you say creepy? The affectation in his voice his looks and his odd living arrangement of living with his mother for a man in his 40s just speaks of dysfunction

Thomas- and entitled but pathetic man who does not hold a chance in hell of ever getting elected to public office- and the fact that he got a 22-year-old pregnant is despicable

Kathryn- A vulnerable in this and 22-year-old who is trying so hard to come across sophisticated but just can't do it

Patricia- a hoot and love watching her

Shepp- as much of a doofus as he comes across I can't help but like the guy he just seems like a sweet fun-loving kind of guy but incidentally apparently is quite intelligent

Craig- Nice looking a little lost an arrogant but I'm sure he'll find his way

Any other SC fans out there?

This has to be at least the 3rd thread with the exact same title.

OP, I'm addicted as well. I generally agree with most of your assessment.

However, I actually agreed with Whitney on his strategy for TRav. There is absolutely no way that anyone would take his candidacy seriously. He should have just embraced his party-boy image and ran with it. He ended up with 3% of the vote trying to be serious. I could have put my name on the ballot and probably ended up with the same result - and I don't even live in SC!

Regarding Kathryn - I don't think she is as naive and innocent as you do. She's a pretty girl with no career, ambition and she did what was easiest - spread her legs and had a kid with a rich old guy for an 18 year payday. That's why she slept with everyone in the group. Shep had no intention of settling down. Whitney used her as an easy lay. Thomas, though, actually did want a child but didn't want the burden of marriage and commitment. So, I guess it's a win-win for both of them.

Of course, her payday would be multiplied if they actually got married. He has no intention of ever marrying her. Ever. She should just cut her losses, take the payout for the baby, and move on with her partying ways.

Love Shep. Love Cameran (she's so pretty and likeable). The jury is still out for me on Landon, but she's growing on me.

Whitney just bothers me so much. He is so pretentions.

Cameron's only job on the show is to judge everyone else. She doesn't reveal her own personal life.

Cameron is adorable but she does get on my nerves because I feel like she tries to play the holier than thou… Did she ever do anything wrong? I would think yes.

Shepp is just adorable and so likable. Whitney is just creepy I'm sorry there's something about his looks that smirk on his face and his voice there's just nothing at all likable to me about him at all and his German girlfriend is homily!

I think Landon's got a good heart and no I wasn't sure about her at first I actually really like her now

Really love this show as well. Love Sheep, so cute. Love those dimples

Whitney is weird, creepy and as Fallon would say "EWWW" and he looks just like his mother....who reminds me of Mommy Dearest, Joan Crawford.

I like Ravanel as well, but his GF is a brat. She is going about things all wrong if she wants him to ever propose to her!

I agree and that's getting old. I like her but without seeing her life and the others getting to comment on it, she just comes across as holier than thou.

I don't think Cameran's husband will go on camera. Smart man!

When does this show come on? I always try to look for it at odd times of the day but all Bravo ever shows is some Housewives sh*t. I'm not going to watch it at 10 pm on Monday nights. That's bedtime.

Try watching it through your on-demand function.

I totally agree and I think it's ultra smart not to expose your life to tv. So I just don't get why cameran must be on the show if she isn't willing to share her life. Her role is kinda pointless. I respect her for not selling out her personal life but it means she doesn't make for good trash tv, lol.

I adore this show so much. I do wish we got more of an insight into Craig's head. There is clearly something SEVERELY wrong with him, and it was all revealed in that very early episode where his brother comes to hang out with him. That whole episode was cringeworthy for Craig.

It's clear that he has a terrible relationship with his brother (note the shifty, uncertain eyes when he says that he and his brother have each other's backs, and whenever someone says evasively that they don't have the best relationship with a sibling, it's likely to be a huge understatement).

Then the brother questions whether Craig has ever had a girlfriend in response to Craig trying to be all fratty and "I smash chicks all day erryday"

There is something huge going on with Craig that we are not seeing that is the cause of all of his dysfunctional behavior: his partying, his insecurity, his pretensions to belong to a class higher than his, his post-law school meltdown, and his decision to be on a reality TV show.

I totally agree with you. I personally think he is gay but isn't strong enough to come out yet.
