2-3 weeks in France - ideas?

| We want to stay in one place for the ease of not moving things around for young children. Would love a good beach. Can forgo beach for another area where there is enough to do for 2-3 weeks (including short excursions). |

My favorite area is lower Normandy. Calvados area is great. Mont st Michael is mesmerizing. The history of the area relative to WWII is inspiring. Beaches definitely an option with lots of other stuff to do as well.

| There are hundreds of nice places in France. Most of the best are not near a beach though. |

| La Baule (where I great up going to the beach), easy to drive to other spots in Brittany/Normany/Loire valley. Otherwise, 8km of great beach. |

Not in the summer. Learned to swim at low tide in the bay
