I'm considering chavez for my middle school DS next year. Anything know anything about their program or principal?

You probably are not going to get much response from this crowd. Your best bet is to post on a neighborhood list serve.

I think Chavez is a very good school my daughter attended when she was in middle school at the Parkside Campus. The grading system is excellent and forces your child to strive for excellence because the grade of a "D" is not an option. But I would recommend trying the Chavez Prep near Columbia Heights instead of the Parkside Campus because I have heard the school took a turn for the worse (or rephrase that... The kids took a turn for the worse)

The prinicpal is great... but the school does has it challenges but no more than any other DCPS or Charter School.
