Want to suggest an accent color?

We have an open kitchen/family room. The kitchen is white and the paint for both is light grey. We have a grey sofa and navy blue rug and accent pillows. It could still use a little punch and I'm looking for another color to introduce as a secondary accent color. Any suggestions?

Pink or Orange? Navy blue and gray are great neutrals, so you can pick pretty much any color. I'd pick a color that gives you a punch in the gut of happy feelings. If you don't know what that might be, go to the paint color rack and just pick the first cards that catch your fancy. It'll probably be clear quickly what your favorite color family is.

Persimmon which is an orange color is pretty popular now. Navy too. I did Emerald Green in my living room recently too.

Yellow?

Gray and Navy both look great with a yellow the shade of lemons or rain slickers, if you know what I mean? And it's very happy and cheerful.
