| Wondered if this is really true! |
| So far, no. She's 12. When I was 12 I needed a bra. She doesn't. |
It's no for me too. My DD is 10 & no sign of anything & I think it will be a while yet. When I was her age I was well developed, B cup bras and a Forrest of pubes. I did think she would follow the same pattern so I explained everything & got her the Whats happening to me book.

| No. I started my period at 10. She was 13. |
| It's a yes from me. I started developing at 9 and period at 11. I noticed daughter starting to develop a few months short of 9 and she started having periods around 10.5. |
| My SIL started at nine and her daughter also just started at nine. I have a nine year old a few months younger than my niece and was completely blindsided. I hadn't even had the full talk yet. I'm sure hoping my daughter doesn't start for awhile. I was 12 1/2. |

No. DD started her period at almost 12, but needed bra at 10, developed body odor at age 9.
I got my period at age 14, about the time I hit 100 pounds. Totally different body types |
| NO. |
| No, I had my first period at 11 and both daughters were 13 1/2 when they had their first one. |
You might want to pick up some of those American Girl books and leave them around for her--if your dd is related to this SIL biologically. |

Mine started earlier than I did. I was 13 before anything began yet dd is 10 and helping her in the shower I was a bit taken back when I noticed she has pubic hair. I know it was going to happen sooner or later but it still came as a bit of a shock as I wanted her to stay as she was for a bit longer.
before she went to bed we had a little time together and I asked her how she feels about her body changing and that she would soon start getting breasts and explained about periods and showed her a pad and tampon. |
| Yes and no. I had my first period when I was 10. DD1 had her first period at 12. DD2 had her first period just shy of 10. |
