Two weeks ago, DCPS announced a new Immersion (Spanish) program will be starting at Houston Elementary (Ward 7/Deanwood) -- It was the work of a few really supportive in-bound families and community leaders advocating for their local school. As an in-bound parent at Miner, I'm interested in learning more about how the immersion is being implemented how they raised community awareness/excitement for the new program.I would love to connect with others who are interested in this conversation.

Also there is a meeting this Saturday May 9, 2015 at 10:30 am at Houston Elementary School, Multipurpose Room 1100 50th Place, NE. (Children welcome and breakfast served) that will include a presentation from DC Immersion Project.

If you can't make it but would be interested in a meeting, let me know so I can invite you to the one I'm organizing for this summer. Please forward this message as you think is necessary!

I'm not sure what you're asking. You want Miner to have Immersion? Or some other Ward 6 school? (besides Tyler?)

Is there any push to have another language other than Spanish as an immersion program?

Sorry, but unless you are interested in Jefferson - CHPSPO won't listen to anything and will shut it down.

Welcome to schools in Ward 6
