PK3 Waitlist movement?

Anonymous
Low waitlist numbers at Bruce Monroe, West, Powell, Marie Reed but not seeing any movement. Anyone else?

I've seen no post May 1 movement either. Called enrollment coordinator who only was willing to verify they had my info but that's it. Sigh.

We also have low numbers at Powell and Marie Reed, and have seen no movement.

We moved up 1 for CMI. Nothing else has budged.

Hmm, you moved up one for CMI for PK3 and our CMI number has not moved at all for same grade. None of this makes sense.

That is odd--we've moved up three spots for PK3 at CMI.

Are you seeing that movement in the numbers on the my school dc site?

Just found out Bruce Monroe has offered spots up to number 8 on the waitlist.

It could make sense -- it all depends on your position on the waitlist. Improved waitlist numbers don't necessarily mean that someone at the front of the waitlist was offered a spot (in which case yes, everyone's number should get better). It also could mean that someone in the middle of the waitlist was taken off because they accepted a spot at a school they ranked higher (or, I suppose, informed the school they no longer wished to be included on the waitlist). So in the latter situation, if the person who was removed from the waitlist was #35, but you are #20, your waitlist number will not change -- the only people who will see an improved position will be the people who were behind the person who left the waitlist.

ah ha! I had not thought of that but it makes sense.

Higher WL numbers generally have more movement than lower numbers as explained by the reasons in post 11:54 and also because of sibling preference, i.e., a child getting into another grade at CMI would then pull their sibling in PK3 up to the top of the WL.

PP- did you have high or low numbers? My Tubman, MR and Bancroft numbers for PK-3 haven't moved at all.

Peabody has started extending offers for PK3 to people on its waitlist.
