On Wednesday, I am coordinating a potluck lunch through our school PTO.
It's potluck and parents have signed up to bring in appetizers, sandwiches, sides, salads, desserts, etc. Should I label each dish for the teachers to see? Just thinking about allergies and food preferences. I can do this easily with fold over cards at at least write out "vegetarian lasagna" or "gluten free cake" but what do you think? |
| I think that would be nice. I am a teacher and that is usually done at our annual potluck luncheon. It's nice to know what kind of fun and different things I'm eating since we get quite a range of items. |
| Op here. Thanks. I have allergies and never eat anything that isn't labelled, so this is always on my mind. |
| As a vegetarian, I really appreciate having food items labeled. |
| Absolutely. I won't eat it, if I'm not sure what's in it. Especially if it contains "mystery" meat. |
| Absolutely! Vegetarian teacher here, and I am currently planning my back up lunch for tomorrow in case there are no easily identifiable veggie options at our pta lunch. |
| Teacher here, yes please label. Sometimes it's not obvious what a dish is, and I always feel bad when nobody or very few people eat it because they aren't sure what it is. |

Great idea OP.
Can you just ask the parents to label at drop-off to help you out? Such a nice idea, the lunch, for teachers. |
