| Best lacrosse program for someone coming in from CT who is a very good player (7th grade and plays up). Friend moving to DC in Aug. they want to start looking into clubs for their son who is by most accounts a gifted athlete, he is 13 and entering 8th grade. Though my kids played sports none played lacrosse at that level so I am clueless. I know this is hotbutton topic so don't want to get into banter about whose better as I am sure there are many good teams, but if you can please give me a few. How about the Crabs? |

Here is a list of teams

This is the right place to start. Some teams depends on grade as one club may have a nationally ranked team and other grades not as strong. . We knew someone who came from connecticut where it was tough to get on a team locally - though at younger years. Don't want to make this a hot button issue but give your friend some info to help their son. A few things to know - nypll teams switched from age to grade last year to align with baltimore. Even the top players in middle school on the top teams do not generally play up in this area. A lot of the kids on the 6th grade teams are 13, a few maybe older as some parents/schools hold back. last year, many try outs are august, but a few are later in fall, which makes it tricky. Some of the try outs overlap on same weekend/week . I can't say that tryouts would be fully objective - as majority of kids are known commodities, whether on current team or seen in games over past years. we've seen some not so great stuff in tryouts over the years boys/girls lax. most teams do summer tournaments in june/july -( though for some, its a different a summer team rather than team during year). maybe would be helpful if he could do summer tournaments with some of the same teams there- or family go to one, to see level of play of the teams, talk to the coach? |

Npyll is overrated. One or two teams at each age group that is good. This rest of the teams are bad. What area is the OP moving to? Crabs younger teams are very bad. Not until they get the reclass kids on thier teams do they become good. |
Another weirdo parent with no perspective. The OP parent is asking about a rising 8th grader. The Crabs 2020 team is the best in the area. Regarding kids who reclassify, it seems everyone does it now, especially Madlax. |
| My DS wants to tryout for BLC 2022 team this fall. He tells me they are the best around. How hard is it to make this team? |
| Tough |
BLC 2021 is very good not the 2022 team. |
| 2022 teams seem to be a wreck everywhere. My son is ready to try a travel team. He's not the best player in the world, but all the club teams he's seen or worked with are weak, to say the least. |
