lacrosse programs for a 9 y.o. girl

Anonymous
My 9 y.o. DD has played some lacrosse at school and is interested in pursuing the sport. I'd love suggestions for getting her started, either in an after-school program or summer camp. We live in Chevy Chase, so are looking for programs in CC, Bethesda or NW DC. Thanks!

I just got this e-mail (see below) from Bethesda lacrosse, a league that my 8 year old son plays in. Its open to everyone (not just MD or Bethesda) and is great for both new and more advanced players. My kids (both boy and girl) have also played at Next Level clinics and teams. Its a great program, too.

Great news lacrosse fans! Bethesda Lacrosse will launch their first girls lacrosse program this spring with an Instructional Clinic that begins Sunday, March 22nd. This 8 week long comprehensive program is available for players who are new to the game and girls with previous lacrosse experience. Players will learn the fundamentals of girls lacrosse progressing to field positions and scrimmages at the end of practice.

Dates: Sunday, March 22nd through May 17th (No session 4/12)
Location: Westland Middle School (5511 Massachusetts Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20816)

Time: 4:00 pm-5:30 pm

Girls Ages 7-12

Cost: $150

All girls must have a women’s lacrosse stick, approved eye protection, and a mouth guard to participate.

To register, go to https://leagueathletics.com/Registration/Restrictions.asp?RegID=62930&org=bethesdalacrosse.net

We are still looking for volunteers to assist with current and future planned programs for girls lacrosse. We would like to expand to teams this fall, based on the response of players and volunteers. Please email Sandy DeCain at girls@bethesdalacrosse.org if you are interested in volunteering. Training will be provided.

Best program in Montgomery County, farther out but worth it. http://www.leaguelineup.com/miscinfo.asp?menuid=49&cmenuid=49&url=mvsalax&sid=957450058
