Scoliosis Specialist?

Anonymous
My DD, who is a young adult was just diagnosed with mild scoliosis. She's over 18 so too old for a pediatric practice, but I keep thinking of scoliosis as a childhood condition. Do you have any recommendations for an orthopedic doctor who specializes in scoliosis? Or a pediatric ortho dr who also sees young adults?
I am very worried that this will progress and want to make sure we get it treated properly.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
PS: We are located in MD.

Do not waste your time with Dr. Tuck.
If your daughter already 18 you are out of the woods. Sleep tight. You do not need orthopedist. They do nothing. Nothing can be fixed at that point.
If she needs surgery, that is different story.
If you need exercises to help her posture, and relieve pain contact Downey at National Capital Scoliosis in VA. (Special Physical Therapy for scoliosis).
Do you mind: How many degrees?

^^
Is your daughter still growing?
I can't imagine it can progress at 16. Did anybody made x-rays? They can look at some area and see is growing done or not.
I doc not know girls who grow after 18. Boys do...

I don't know how many degrees, I will find out. Since she is over 18, all information is released directly to her, I'm just the middleman now!

I am hoping we can find a good PT who specializes in this in MD, DD has hip pain which the PCP says is related to the scoliosis.

Thank you very much for the recommendation! I will call and maybe they can recommend someone closer to us. I really appreciate this. I wish her dr had discovered this sooner!
