| Where do armoires go when you don't want them anymore? |
| Craigslist or to charity. |
| Craigslist. I actually have a few and I love mine. |
We loved this piece for a few years, but it is a bugger to move and it just doesn't fit our house (where it has been for the last 7 years!). It fit the house before this. It's a nice piece, but it seems technology has evolved so that the armoire craze has gone by the wayside. I am willing to pay movers to take it out of my house.... but don't know where they should take it! |
Post it on craigslist and the buyers will move it for free. You can even post it for free and someone will remove it for you. |

I'm literally going to hack apart a very old, falling apart armoire currently in my DDs bedroom and toss the pieces out her upstairs window. We had three contractors working on another project and offered them cash to haul that thing all the way to DD's top floor room and said then (ten years ago) that it was such a giant, literal pain to move that it would either stay in place forever (and convey) or will be sledgehammered and tossed.
Watch out below! |
| See many in thrift stores. |
It's so big and heavy that I wouldn't trust any buyer to just come and get it. I think it took 4+ professional movers to get it up the stairs. I don't want any craigslist buyers to be killed in my home trying to get it down the stairs. |
| A Wider Circle, Salvation Army and a few other charities will pick up furniture. |
| I love old stuff like this. |
