DE success at 42 or 43?

Anonymous
Experiencing secondary fertility. I can get pregnant w/my eggs still but have not carried past 10 weeks since the birth of my son 5 years ago... Multiple miscarriages, poor quality eggs, I'm 42.5 years.

Anyone have success w/DE at 42 or 43?

I'm sorry about your losses, OP. I was exactly in your situation (one successful pregnancy, multiple m/cs afterwards), and I got pregnant with DE on the first try at 42. If you don't have immune issues and there are no issues with your uterus, your chances of a successful pregnancy and delivery are good.

I am 43 and doing frozen donor eggs via RBA. First transfer was a heartwretching BFN, but recently confirmed preggers on my second transfer using a Day 6 blast! Good luck.

Used SG Shared Risk DE program at 44. Got BFP on first cycle with 2 FE. We lost the baby mid-pregnancy due to a freak accident.

Age of Mom doesn't matter as much with DE.

Goood Luck!

Absolutely OP! I tried for a while w/ my own eggs at 42/43 and it was an abject failure. Went to donor eggs and delivered healthy twins within a year. (First, fresh transfer failed but frozen worked.) Delivered them in my last days of being 44.

Good luck!!!

I got pregnant and delivered a singleton at 41 with my own eggs.
Tried again on my own but was unsuccessful.
Moved to DE at age 43. Got pregnant on first try with DE. Delivered a healthy baby at age 44.
I used ORM. Loved them. They made it so easy. I only needed to travel there for the transfer. I spent all of 2 days in Portland, the rest was done remotely. Great experience.

Yes, age is pretty much not a factor with DE. I had my DE twins at age 48. If you've been having multiple losses in your 40's, but it's secondary infertility, that suggests that egg quality is the most likely culprit. If you don't have other fertility issues, you will likely succeed with DE. I went to the Clinic for Reproductive Medicine in Zlin in the Czech Republic, but airfares are dramatically higher than they were in 2009 when I cycled. Between the rising cost of overseas and the growth of lower cost DE programs with the ongoing bad economy, there's less reason to go overseas. Per a pp's comment, I'm feeling pretty warm 'n' fuzzy about ORM, because they made a woman I knew through a support forum who had multiple DE failures and multiple fertility problems (endo, septate uterus) a mom. Good luck!

i was successful with DE 1st try at age 47, healthy full-term pregnancy with zero complications! I had a c-section but that was due to large size of baby (1 week overdue) and his wide head.
Another friend BFP now at age 50.

OP here. I'm also at ORM, so this makes me feel optimistic. Who was your doc?

10:59 here, not the poster you asked: I used ORM, and Hesla was my doc. I was very happy with my experience there!
