Help with a budget

We are moving into a new home that has almost twice the space. We need to furnish the following:

--Living Room (separate from a family room, where current sofa, etc. will be used)
--Three kids bedrooms (ages 6, 4, 1.5)
--Master bedroom sitting area

I plan to hire someone to help, but I want to have a budget in mind before I get started interviewing anyone. I want nicer quality than IKEA/Crate/Pottery Barn, but not especially high end either. I just want the furniture I buy to last a while and be good value.

Any ballpark budget ideas are appreciated.

I'd say $3k/kid room, $5k for living room, and $2k for sitting room.
