West in the 2nd Round?

Anonymous
West is my IB school but I dropped the ball and didn't apply to it in the first round lottery. Am I likely to get in during Round 2 for PK3? Demand seems to be up a lot this year.

From what I understand, you will move to the list ahead of the 1st round OOBers (which I don't necessarily agree with, but it isn't my process).

I think that would be almost guaranteed. If you look at the data, the current wait list doesn't have any IB people on it, so you would move to the top of the list. Then, if anyone declined a spot you should get it first. Unless a number of other IB people like you do the same thing, or no one gives up a spot.

That makes sense. I was wondering about the timing of the waitlist and whether they're calling all the people on the waitlist right now so that the class would be full by the time May 29th rolls around.

That might depend on the principal - you should probably get in touch with him/her ASAP.

You would go ahead of any OOB families on the waitlist--go for it.
