Clearview Elementary (Herndon)

Does anyone have any information (other than Great Schools rating) about Clearview Elementary in Herndon? Does it have a strong PTA? How is the gifted (AAP) program? TIA.

According to Dashboard, there are 20 students in 3rd grade AAP (or one classroom), 27 students in 4th grade AAP (or one classroom), 50 students in 5th grade AAP (or two classrooms), and 37 students in 6th grade AAP (or two classrooms).

My kids don't attend Clearview, but we have soccer practice and games there. Recently, there were 2 dead bodies found near that school, so that would give me some concern. The police said in one instance it may have been because of gang activity. Both of these deaths were each around 1 mile from Clearview.

Oh, please. My kids go there. We just got back from the school play and didn't trip over any dead bodies on the way home. The first body to which you are referring was found near the town center over 2 miles away. That man was a waiter at a local pub. There was no foul play. Yes, the second incident (extremely rare) was closer but still over a mile away. Clearview is a nice, safe, smallish school tucked away in a good neighborhood with a vibrant PTA. Mine are in the AAP and I couldn't be happier with the teachers.

Are there only 20 students in the 3rd grade AAP class? That's awesome.
