| Does the Dunn Loring office ever answer the phone? |
| ChildFind is your first introduction to life as a SN parent. You have to be persistent, share all your concerns, wait forever for testing and follow up. If they got back to you right away and actually tested your child in a timely fashion then you might think you were entering a world of unicorns and butterflies. (Sorry to be so sarcastic. It's just when things do go smoothly with any of my child's SN services, I am always so shocked I write a letter of appreciation). |
Haha, welcome to the club. Yes, they are very slow. Your best bet is to physically show up there and get answers. |
| They suck IMO. Go there in person. |
| If your DC is 5 or about to turn 5, don't let them tell you you have to wait until she enters kindergarten to any assessments, testing or have meetings. |
| Op here- so frustrated!!! |
| Can I just show up at the office? |
OP, I did that, after leaving a lot of messages asking to call back. Got all my paperwork started and everything. |

I actually just went to our Child Find office in MoCo. It was much better than calling and waiting around. It made me feel empowered and in control of the situation. I also brought my child with me so they could see his face and see what was at stake.
I got all my questions answered and made sure I was on the right track. Go for it! |
