How long is this flu with sore throat/fever/cough going to last?

| Teen has it. Wicked sore throat for days, fever of about 102 first day, 99-100 days 2-3, cough etc. How long?? |

| I'm on day 7 but the horrible sore throat has stopped. Still exhausted and have no voice, though. |

| We all had it at my house. The worst was over after about 5 days, but the cough lingered for about 2 weeks. |

| My ds had it too. He had the fever/cough/sore throat/exhaustion for a solid 7 days, then he was very fatigued for the next week or so. |

Sounds like what I have. Today is day 4 and I'm better than I was. Hoping to get out of bed tomorrow  .

21:03 here I would have sworn it was the flu, but my ds's fever hovered in the 100s and never went above 101, so the doc didnt test for flu. |

19:49 here. Gack, the sore throat has returned! Not as bad as before but still. It had gone for 2 days and I thought I was on the mend. Guess not.

| OP here. DS had this 2 times in the fall but not such a sore throat as now. Our kids fevers are rarely at flu level ever but given the malaise, insane sore throat, awful cough all night and other symptoms, I don't see how it can be a cold. DD feeling better but exhausted so will probably return to school unless the fever pops back later today. |

Did you get DS tested for strep? It sounds a lot like strep to me. |
