We would like to do a couple of trips this spring - Ocean City, MD or Virginia Beach or neither?
Somewhere Texas? Boston? We've only traveled once to Florida last year and I am not good at organizing travel. Any suggestions appreciated. |

Austin is nice.
Does your little one do well in planes? Our family is an exception and we do not like beaches and always struggle to plan. Everything is beach-oriented in spring and summer. |
| Beach vacation is great if you don't like to plan. Look for rentals along the Delmarva beaches (I like Bethany since it's so family friendly-- check out Sea Colony). See if you can get a grandparent to go along so you get some adult time. Pretty relaxing way to spend a few days. |
| Lancastester and Dutch Wonderland. |
| Beach here is not very warm until early summer. I'd do something more inland for spring. Lancaster/Strasburg for tot-friendly rides, historic train, farm visits. Gardens in Delaware near Winterthur for great flowery photo ops. |
| I'd wait on the beach until summer. Dutch wonderland would be great for that age |
| OP. Thank you for the suggestions. |

We have always had fun in Williamsburg. Lots of open areas for little kids to walk/run around. Some nice playgrounds in the area. Fairly affordable.
We spent on night in Frederick last summer with an 11 month old and a 3 year old. Their minor league baseball team is very family friendly, there is a local train you can ride (Walkerville...I think?), a train museum, a nice park downtown, etc. Might do a night in Richmond this year... |
