And those of you pretending to be living fulfilling lives are fooling nobody. This is a holiday week, a time of happiness and treks out West or to an island. Folks with coin, folks with big happy families, people with a life aren't couped up in their apartment or shitshack reading DCUM with their cats.

This is the poster that always makes me think it's actually AB who's posting. They keep using the word "shitshack" which is such a foul word. It's also probably regional. Then I searched on it. There's a user who posted on Arlington thread in the DCUM forum as well. So, I take it back. It's not AB.

But they are definitely pro-Hillary. But they call her a nitwit yoga wife.

BTW, I am def not pretending to live a fulfilling life! Anyone spending as much time on this page as I have is slightly obsessed, that's for sure. But not in a "I"m going to start a new personality with a fake accent" obsessed.

DH and I learned the word "shitshack" from DCUM. It is commonly used in the real estate forum or to slam anyone who lives in Pimmit Hills.

+1 It’s also used as a faux brag when saying that you are poor but still bought a 1.2M sh!tshack in Arlington that you haven’t updated yet. It’s a common word on this site.

Truly the best part of this whole grift is the people calling the people talking about it "nutcases," who have "so much time on their hands" to "dig into" a public person's life. Even better when they include their idea that saying things like such people are "jealous," "ugly" "fat," "have no lives," are "unhappy" "poor" and personal favorites like having frizzy hair, dirty coasters, etc.

I admit to spending too much time on this scandal the past few days and I have been thinking about why it's so interesting to me.

First, I really cannot understand anyone who pimps out their kids on Instagram for profit. Especially somebody like Hillary who doesn't need the money. Posting recordings of your daughter hearing about your miscarriage is beyond inappropriate and, in my view at least, demonstrates terrible parenting.

So now that she has been caught in a huge lie, I am certainly not angry or trying to bully her. I think it is really, really funny.

She chose to live her life on Instagram, half-naked. She chose to parade around using a fake Spanish accent. She barely speaks Spanish! She turned out to be a total fraud. I do not wish for anything terrible to happen to her, but she certainly should lose all her endorsements and be the butt of jokes for a few days, especially since she won't admit wrongdoing. Even if they fail or refuse to see the harm of the Hilaria character with the fake accent and stereotype-ridden fake identity, I'm mystified as to how anyone can possibly think Hillary is a good mom, using those poor kids as props and forcing them to act in her fake reality show for social media.

Carmen was so obviously forced to perform in that MLK video, just one example (look at how she obediently places her arm next to her mom's the second she says "look at my skin," just as mom made her rehearse, but she did it a bit too quickly, revealing the coaching since that is not something anyone does when told "look at my skin " And how she says her scripted line, "sad," at the end. The whole thing is sad.) And videotaping and posting a kid's reaction to being told about a miscarriage is indefensible. Hillary is deeply unwell. It's good for the kids' sake that there are so many nannies around.

I feel so bad for those children being used like objects by their mother for social media attention. It IS abuse. The fact that Alec allows it makes me feel less sorry for him getting so massively duped. I don't think he was in on the scam from the start. And he probably didn't know Eduardo/Edu was named for Hillary's ex she dated around the time the Hilaria character was created.

Well said! I used to follow her on IG as I was drawn to her wellness shtick and was looking forward to her book being released... until I realized her public persona was actually a phony gimmick. Since she allegedly recently recovered from an eating disorder, her IG posts didn’t sit well with me; so I unfollowed her. I think this ‘scandal’ is ‘hilarious’.

Exactly. Wasn’t there a really popular book a few years back about a woman who almost married a scammer? The book was all about why we’re so fascinated and how so many of us fall for the con. Psychologically it’s fascinating. I’m also fascinated by the response - the doubling down, the evasion, the refusal to see or admit wrongdoing. The inability to just say sorry. It’s so interesting. Especially when coming from people who have espoused a lot of values that they seem very happy to throw out of the window when their own backs are against the walls.

I don’t hate her or wish her harm. I followed her for a while and actually think she’s beautiful. Cuckoo but very pretty. She seems quite sweet and well-meaning. I also think she’s a little tone deaf and it doesn’t surprise me that she doesn’t understand how she could have upset people. I don’t begrudge anybody being proud of their body but anyone with even the slightest bit of sensitivity could see why the ‘I’m just trying to show the world what a postpartum body looks like’ shtick was going to grate.

I feel for her. I think this must be excruciating. And I also think she has to cop to a mistake made and apologize. Firstly because it’s the right thing and secondly because the Daily Mail et al aren’t going to drop it until she does.
