Reminder: DCUM cheered when Tucker Carlson was fired.

Did President Biden’s appointee threaten to fire him?

They don’t understand the difference. It’s like talking to a brick wall.

That’s not fair. Don’t lump brick walls in with those a-holes.

One thing I’m learning is the RWNJs have a mile high pile of made-up whataboutisms.

You’ve obviously never watched his show. He’s a partisan advocate and ranter. He’s not a comic.

He’s a comedian and talk show host and he’s said nothing more outrageous than anything Fox “News” says on an hourly basis. Why do you hold comedians to higher standards than your newscasters?

Killmeade just literally said homeless people who don’t cooperate should be killed. Not one word from the right. Just another day at Fox.

Fox has fired several of its hosts for things they’ve said or done. I don’t like Fox News. I don’t like or watch regularly any cable news and haven’t watched a late night show since the 90s.

They were fired for sexual misconduct, not for what they said on air. Lies are the meat of their programming. Without them, they cease to exist.

Lies are what got Kimmel fired and the left is outraged over it. Ironic.

Wait - can you fire people for lying?

Cuz there is an steaming pile of orange dog crap that lies 24x7…

And not just him but all his underlings too.

Ah yes, now it’s a crime to celebrate cancelations. You people still keep missing the point. Are you actually people? Or just rabid animals debased from drink and living in Russia?

No crime here. Kimmel is a terrible host who doesn’t understand his purpose. Disney understands that. He brings them nothing.

He’s tops in his demographic and brings them viewers and hence money. Trump forced them to fire him. Which is a very un-American, unconstitutional thing to do. If you were actually American, and actually finished high school, you would understand that instinctively.

No. You can’t read.

I’m right. As in correct. You can’t read the Constitution. Give it a try sometime.

+1. I’d love to see Joe Rogan get bumped down to obscurity.

Kimmel is not going to overtake Rogan with a podcast. Kimmel isn’t very interesting and all he did was recite a joke his writers wrote for him and now he’s fired for it. His show was off the air for six months during the writers strike. He cant pivot to podcasting if he isn’t original

Do you really think the top podcasters just “wing it”? Podcasting is big money. They have staff.

As everyone with two brain cells to rub together already knew, this decision was entirely driven by FCC Chair Carr's threats:

Homeless people are not really a demographic advertisers target.

Sure, but do advertisers target demographics that want homeless people to be killed?

Good catch! And let’s not forget Trump being kicked off Twitter.

After he incited a riot and attempted to use a violent mob to prevent the certification of a democratic election.

This is what's driving me bonkers about their romanticizing Charlie Kirk's crowd work as "open debates" and "free exchange of ideas." Republicans have never debated anything in good faith. It's all misdirections, gish gallops, false equivalences, strawmen, appeals to tradition and/or authority, and ad hominems.

What a dumb argument. First, Kimmel's comment is in no way equivalent. (Quote below--show me the lie or the call for death)
Two, there is no way that Kimmel's ratings and audience would be affected by such a benign comment. No. Possible. Way.
So it isn't ratings, and it's not lies, so what is it really? Oh wait--it is the FCC threatening their license and their merger.

Kimmel
"We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving on Friday. The White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level, you can see how hard the president is taking this.""

What got him fired was blaming it on MAGA and doubling down on the kid being MAGA. The problem is that there was plenty of indication by Monday that this was anti-MAGA.
Kimmel is either ignorant or lying.
