Swelling and bruise within SECONDS of a slight hit-- cause for concern?

Anonymous
I was nerf swordfighting with my ds. His sword smacked me on the calf, not very hard. Not even a minute later, the area felt like it was sort of itching/burning. When I looked, it was blue under the skin, and swollen! I iced it and elevated it for a little while.

That was about an hour ago. Now it's slightly swollen and a little tender. The color is more gray/black like an old bruise. None of the other areas that got hit (even harder) show so much as a red mark! I've never had this happen before, and I don't generally bruise easily. Is this a fluke, or something I should worry about?

Since it's new for you, talk to your doctor. I've been like that my whole life (some people have weaker vessels) but it's never a bad idea to see the doctor if you're concerned. I'm sure it's nothing, OP!

You're welcome, but I wish you had some other input besides mine! A new thought- maybe since your injury site turned grey like an old bruise, as you said, you have a super-fast healing system?
I hope that's the case! But do ask your doctor, just because it's out of the ordinary for you.

Unless accompanied by rapid weight loss it seems unlikely to be anything interesting.
