Grand Cayman - where to stay?

| I have never been to Grand Cayman but we are thinking about going over winter break this year - probably renting a house. We would be 5/6 adults and 5 kids ranging from 2-8yrs. I am just starting to do some research on the island but would love some advice from those who know the island well ..... where should we be looking for a place? 7 mile beach? Rum Point? specific parts of 7 mile? Would we need to rent a car? Any & all advice welcome please! TIA! |

| We are a family of 5 and just came back from Grand Cayman last week. Stayed on seven mile beach and loved it (at the Westin). Definitely rent a car. |

| For first timers I would recommend seven mile beach. Rent a car for at least part of your stay. |

| Everything is accessible from 7 mile beach. There's nothing near Rum Point. |
