Can we get a DIY/Craft forum?

Unlikely. I am going to rearrange some forums soon, but I don't think I'll be able to add a crafts forum.

Not the OP but why? Why would you be 'unable' to do that? You don't want to or can't?

We currently have 40 forums which I believe is about 10 more than what is optimal. I am planning to create at least one more in the near future that I believe is very important to conform to current posting trends. I am not considering removing any of the current forums and don't want to be 12 forums over what I consider to be the optimal number. We can argue about whether that means that I can't or won't create a DIY/Craft forum, but that is the situation.

Seems you could ditch the marketplace... hardly any activity there (and most people I know in the area are in Facebook groups for buying/selling used items).

I've thought about that and probably will change the way we handle buying and selling eventually. But, now I feel like we need those forums to keep "for sale" ads out of the other forums. Posts are deleted after two weeks from those forums so there is actually more traffic in them than appears.

Gardening is low traffic an so would a diy/craft. Why not combine them?

I probably can't be considered one of "the gardening folks", but I check in there occasionally. If it became a combined crafts/gardening forum, I'd probably go there a lot more often! I think it's a great idea.
