I voted for Obama but am starting to really wonder about him. This really concerns me and I am for universal health coverage.
WASHINGTON, March 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The leader of the nation's largest veterans organization says he is "deeply disappointed and concerned" after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases. http://news.yahoo.com/s/usnw/20090316/pl_usnw/the_american_legion_strongly_opposed_to_president_s_plan_to_charge_wounded_heroes_for_treatment |
This is going to piss people off on both sides of the aisle- big time.
Hopefully public outrage will force him to dump this plan. |
And, as usual, this will be completely ignored in the media. Or somehow spun into an attack on King Obama. This is just getting disgusting.

Next step - insurance companies will not want to insure vets because of this potential liability. Thank you so much - we respect your service. |
THis is completely immoral and a step backwards. Put MORE people into the broken insurance system? Huh? |
I don't even understand this proposal. If it came to pass, what would happen to the Veteran's Administration Hospitals and such? I thought they were specifically there to provide treatment to servicemen and women who had incurred injuries in the course of duties. |
New flash - the White House announced they have backed off the proposal to bill a vet's private insurance for service related injury/disability. |
