Bedroom design

We are moving soon and I'm doing a bit of planning. We have an upholstered bed in our master with a chocolate velvet tufted headboard.

In our new bedroom we have to place the bed in front of two side-by-side standard sized windows, so I was thinking of hanging sheers from the top of the wall (ceiling height) to the floor behind the headboard. I've never had to put a bed in front of a windows before - not sure how to make this not look crappy. Would you do this? There is one other window in the room on a wall parallel to the bed, do we cover that window the same way?

The room is a total blank slate so my other question is given the bed style/color, what color would you paint the walls?
