Dining chairs/kids

What kind of dining chairs do you have around your dining table? I'm about to buy 6 dining room chairs but I do have kids and we won't have a kitchen table. So while I love the look of upholstered chairs, I'm curious how that would work with kids. Does that repellant stuff really work? Do I just pull in non upholstered chairs for them? Does microfiber work better? Please let me know what you think!

Upholstered chairs. Stain guarded. My kids are almost 2 and just turned 3.

We have a small kiddie table with four kiddie chairs in the kitchen.

So does the stain guard work? How does one do it? Just spray?

We just bought the wood windsor ones from Target. We have a toddler and more on the way and I figured I would rather get something that can get destroyed if needed and buy the nicer ones in a few years. We don't have a kitchen table either so that table needs to function for arts and crafts, activities, etc. so I wanted something that was easy to wipe down.
