| I had to leave a company after a very short period of time due to a very toxic manager. I've never done anything like this before, my shortest stint before was 2 years (and this was 10+ years ago). This person is very senior, but Im actually his first and only subordinate. People at this company are asking why I'm leaving so quickly, and the whole "great new opp" spiel doesn't seem to be fooling people given my short stint. Would you admit that you had boss challenges? |
| They probably know that person is crazy. You can always say it wasn't a great fit. Happens to everyone. I think if it's a one time thing (by your resume) then I'd be glad you were able to identify a less than ideal situation and take action. I like action takers over misery dwellers in the workplace. Putting time in is something for your 20s. You owe it to your organization to be satisfied and productive as much as you deserve to feel appreciated and respected. |
| I love when people are honest but positive. We all get it. You don't have to trash anyone to get your point across. |
+1. We all get that there are toxic environments. Keep a positive attitude and put a positive spin, like the PP suggested. |
