Birthday Gift Ideas for Mom

Ideas for a 65 yr old lady who likes gardening, healthy cooking and art. I feel like there is nothing I can get her that she doesn't already have. She doesn't wear jewelry, doesn't go to the spa...she mainly spends her time saving the Philippines, organizing cultural community events. I have no clue what to get her...I think I went to Pier 1 for the last several birthdays!

I hate buying for my parents for that exact reason -- while they don't live the high life, they pretty much have every material thing they want.

How about a really luxurious flower arrangement? Beautiful, but doesn't last (i.e., not something else to store).

Your mom sounds awesome!

What about new gardening gloves? Not expensive, but gardening gloves get disgusting after awhile.

Does she have one of those cushions to kneel on?

Subscription to a magazine she would like?

cushion for gardening? I don't think so, I didn't even know there was such a thing. That might be perfect since she is achier (sp?) these days.

maybe the cushion with an exotic flower for her to plant in the garden?

There are also cushions for gardening that also have handrail type things (http://www.smithandhawken.com/catalog/product...categoryId=cat120313) which are great b/c they help you stand up after being on your knees for a while! My mom is an avid gardener and doesn't like flower arrangements but I'll send her a plant for her garden or rose bush from Jackson & Perkins.

I love to send people gifts from http://www.plowhearth.com/welcome.asp. They have awesome, cool gardening things!

I'm a big fan of the Aerogarden.

Though I love the idea of a cushion for her to kneel on.

If you're giving an exotic flower, make sure it'll suit the climate she lives in. (If you're planning on having her plant it)
