Free fluid in pelvis or "female organs"?

Anonymous
A friend of mine had a Paraguard IUD put in a few months ago. She has experienced increased cramping and pain ever since. She has had ultrasounds done to make sure there was no perforation and everything came back fine. Now she said the pain is lower down in her abdomen. She got checked for a UTI, but the test was negative. Her doctor wants her to have an xray done to see if there is "free fluid" around (or maybe inside?) her uterus causing the pain.

I've never heard of this before, please if you have any experience with this, let me know!

Free fluid can cause pelvic pain because it irritates the lining of the pelvic/abdominal cavity. Sometimes from infection or a ruptured ovarian cyst. Usually seen outside the uterus or in the tubes.

IUD's are gross. I would have it taken out ASAP.

A kitten dies every time you use an apostrophe to pluralize.
