moving company in MD: RECOMMENDATIONS

We are moving from Rockville to Bethesda in June.

I would like to price out how much it would be to move a three bedroom (1100 square feet) home into a three bedroom condo (1100 square feet).

I am also interested in companies that will pack us up and move and pricing that against just the door to door moving of the boxes and furniture.

Have you used a great company you felt did s great job and was reasonably priced?

If so: who were they and how much did it cost?

Big Green Moving. Small, local, high quality.

Great Scott in Hyattsville was really good for us. We used them for a local move and they came in under the estimate. Will likely use them again for another move this summer.

College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving. We just moved with them in March. Very professional and efficient. We packed ourselves but if you want they can also pack your stuff.

Another option is Suburban Solutions. Someone I work with knows the owners and used to work with them. I was very impressed with their offerings as well but we had already committed to College Hunks to do our move or I would have used them.

We used them too (after a recommendation from here). They also came in under estimate ($300 less).

Markham Movers. Small, family-owned moving business out of Silver Spring. They did a fabulous job with our move.

I employed Markham moving me locally.
During the move they broke the reservoir in my Rainbow vacuum cleaner. and lost the glass table top for my chest.
It has now been 4 months that I have been patiently waiting for them to replace both pieces !
For this reason I would not recommend this company for their poor behavior.

Metropolitan moving. We moved 5 years ago, got quoted from them and JK, and they were much cheaper. Only had them move stuff, but they were professional, efficient, and careful. Moved again last week and had them pack and move us and it was the best $$ we spent. We are still unpacking, but they were really great again - professional, careful, courteous. I have also had 3 close friends move with them, all with good experiences. Estimate was on target (slightly under actually) and they moved everything (other than liquids and flammables).

Won’t mention price as we had a much larger move, but def worth getting an estimate from them.

Now I had a horrific move with Metropolitan and still living with the reminders of ripped and broken furniture, destroyed antiques and would never recommend them. I guess it depends on the crew you get.
