My almost 6 year old daughter is enjoying gymnastics at school and has said that she would like to do a class. I'm looking for recommendations in the Fairfax area. We are in Fair Lakes but would be willing to drive up to 20 minutes or so. Thanks!
Capital and Cardinal gyms in the Burke area are very well regarded. Not cheap but good.
Chantilly Academy which is off 50 in Chantilly is definitely your closest bet. Next closest would be GMS which is right off 66 in Manassas, from Fair Lakes you can make it to that part of Manassas in under 15 minutes depending on how close you live to 66 in FL.
If you are closer in the Arlington County PnR at Barcroft Rec. Center (aka Arlington Aerials)
You might want to check the Parktakes site for classes offered through the county.
Great class program, but Fair Lakes to south Arlington (Barcroft) is pretty long especially with traffic. Also, generally there are not spots open to non residents at peak times for classes (i.e. Classes for a 6 year old on weekends or after school). But for those who are Arlington residents or able to attend classes that are not in peak demand (homeschool gymnastics during the day, or adult classes) then this program is definitely worth a try. Non residents can always check the availability after resident registration ends, but it is pretty limited. |
My kids have had a great time in classes at fair fax gymnastics on Pickett.
