Why is this interesting to you?
|
|
I think you left out the dual language waiting list on Marie Reed - 87 for regular elementary, 110 for dual language (English-dominant), and 26 for dual language (Spanish-dominant).
In the interests of completeness, I'd also add Powell to your list, with a WL of 123 (English-dominant) and 41 (Spanish-dominant). |
It is past your bedtime, Troll. Go to sleep. |
Are you the OP? Why so snarky? Is the interesting thing the numbers themselves or where they are? I'm not surprised people want free schooling. |
Not PP but I was also wondering why this is interesting. Would be nice to hear if you have a specific observation? Otherwise it looks as expected. |
I see you put a lot of work into presenting this data yet you have no summary, hypothesis, or conclusion. So, I don't see why this information is pertinent to anyone's life- yet. Could you provide some analysis? Why is this interesting to you? |
| I found it interesting that so many OOB people would list Brent when there was so much noise about PK3 being all IB with Sibs. Same for Ross (1 PK3 class that was all IB this year and last year). But I guess hope springs eternal. |
| What is perhaps most interesting are the number of OOB families who presumably thought they had any chance of getting a space at schools like Ross, Brent, Maury and Peabody. The fact that there are only 35 OOB families waitlisted for Van Ness is also somewhat interesting given that Brent, which is only a few blocks away, reportedly had a greater number of IB three year olds who were waitlisted. |
| You may be surprised to see how many people just waste lottery picks. Commute has been a big deciding factor this year. If I were new to PK3, there are only 6 PK3 programs that I'd be interested in, maybe 1 "safety" that I may or may not really attend depending on commute and that's it before I decide to stay in daycare. So that would leave me 5-6 throw away slots. |
Agree completely, I used slots at schools where there was no real chance because we had our private preschool as a great option, so I only listed schools we would stay in long-term or were a great fit even if a stretch. |
I think the secret is out that Van Ness will be a good option for many families now. I suspect that next year, Van Ness will have as many waitlisted kids as Brent and Maury had this year. |
Wasn't that your prediction for Van Mess this year? But you're about 40%IB at most - not that it's either a good or bad thing, just not on your talking points. So... backtrack and repeat for next year? |
| Whoever the Van Ness detractor is, you are annoying. I'm not in that area, but please allow people to be excited about their school. Informed consumers will not he hoodwinked, you are not protecting others by constantly deriding the school on every post. |
