What's an appropriate salary increase?

Anonymous
Currently earning $75k as a senior staff member at a nonprofit (lead marketing role). The organization I work for is very small (<15 people). I work 32 hours/week (Mon-Thurs). 12 years' experience.

I want to find a full-time position in the private sector...what's a reasonable salary jump to expect if I move from a 4-day to 5-day/week position? mid-90s? low 100s? I'm about to begin speaking with recruiters, so I don't want to seem totally nuts when I start talking about salary expectations....

think of it as an hourly salary: you are increasing your hours by 20%, so your salary increases 20% with no raise.

can you do some glass door research?

Right now, your full time salary is 94k . I would expect an increase over that for being in the private sector and moving jobs, at least 10%. And then up from there, depending on the differential between private and non profit in your sector, increased responsibilities, etc.

I think it will depend.
Some employers consider a 4x 10 full time, others 5 x 9. You need to know what this particular employer is looking for, and adjust accordingly. It may mean a break even.
What you're making for a relatively small team seems reasonable. You may find to get your foot in private sector, you need to take a loss short term, in order to build your skill set, gain other experience, and make more long term.

As PP NOTED, Check out the organizations you're looking at on glass door.
