| Anyone have it? How do you minimize redness? |
|
Hi- I've found that for me a very gentle, creamy cleanser (I use Dermalogica essential cleanser) and a good moisturizer are key. Avoiding whatever triggers redness for you is also important, but sometimes hard to do (e.g., cold air sets it off for me- hard to avoid this winter!). I had an especially bad flare up this fall/winter and went on oral antibiotics for a few months, which really helped. To help cover the redness, I've found a tinted moisturizer to be the best bet.
Good luck- it can be a really frustrating condition! |

Also be sure to see a dermatologist to get a diagnosis and to rule out any underlying diseases. Rosacea & similar flushing symptoms can be a sign of underlying autoimmune diseases such as lupus.
I thought I might have rosacea, and finally broke down and saw a dermatologist, who determined that I was having an allergic photo-reaction to my sunscreen. |
