Little People Shows

Is it me, or has there been an exponential increase in little people reality shows over the last year? I just saw an ad for "7 Little Johnstons." I believe there is another relatively new family show of little people, too? Then there is the existing one with the doctor (Jen?), her husband, and their two adopted kids. Plus Little Woman LA, and now Little Woman NYC.

I watched Little People, Big World many years ago and enjoyed it. Just feel like there is an abdundance now!

No. Just No.

There is a new one with a local couple and their kids, all of whom are little people.

I somehow got sucked into Little Women: LA, but I refuse to watch Little Women: NY because Lila is a terrible human being.

Thought this was reference to Fisher Price Little People and my fist reaction was...awwwww. Love those LP.

yes! There's another show about a family with form of dwarfism.

TLC is the new circus freak network. Of course little people, morbidly obese people, and people with a dozen kids or more are regular humans with human feelings like the rest of us, but the network is getting ridiculous now.

You are so right. And it's supposed to be "The Learning Channel". What are we learning one might ask?

Then why did you use the words "circus freak." Cognitive dissonance?

Because it's an insinuation that TLC is trying to capitalize on.

DH and I were just commenting on this the other day. What is the fascination with little people?

I don't think TLC actually stands for "The Learning Channel" anymore - I think now it's just TLC. The wikipedia entry refers to "The Learning Channel" as its "former name".

Kind of like how AARP is hoping you forget that the RP stands for "retired people" - they are trying to appeal to a broader market.

I like Little People LA but I do feel a bit like I am staring. they are the most adult in their relationships of anyone on reality TV. They actually act like adults!

There are two new ones, right?

A couple and their 3 bio kids (boy and two twin girls) and then the 7 Johnstons or whatever (4 or 5 kids, some adopted).

I've also been surprised at how many ads I've seen for these shows. Are they good?

OP here. Now I heard/read somewhere that Terra from Little Woman LA is getting her own spinoff Terra's Little Family (or something like that).

?????
