Thoughts on this inexpensive chair?

I need to get two chairs in a neutral color and the budget is low. These are not "forever" chairs, but will do until we can afford the really nice ones our designer recommended. In the meantime, I have actually sat in this model and it was pretty comfortable and looked good with an accent pillow. Free shipping and return shipping. Tell me the truth:

Other option is the West Elm Mod Retro chair in gray, which is a bit smaller and might work better with our space, but isn't as comfy and is more expensive and no free shipping or return. Chairs would be paired with a gray modern sofa.

I personally think the West End one is much better looking. The leather would be easier to clean than the brushed fabric on the west end ones, but not a fan of the swivel ones. Sorry.

thanks. I think my gut was telling me that, but was tempted by low price on the swivels.

i love swivel chairs but the bonded lather is really pretty ugly IMO.

The West Elm chair is kind of cool. You could do something more exciting with the fabric than gray--a lot of the colors offered look like they'd go well with a gray sofa.

All that said, I love a comfortable chair and if the West Elm one is not, I'd look some more. Have never ordered from West Elm--if you do it from the store do they still charge shipping? And couldn't you return to the store if there was a problem. These are no so big you couldn't put them in an SUV.

Is there a third option? It seems crazy to spend $400 or more on throwaway chairs. Unless you love them, but it doesn't sound like you do.

Try cost plus world market. Consider the dining chairs too - some of them are upholstered with arms and might look nice in your space.

I like the west elm one a lot. The swivel one looks cheap.

Look at Overstock. Tons of chairs--cheap. I've got several that have held up really well.

I got the Quincy chair from World Market. It comes in a variety of colors, mostly in a velvet. Here is one on sale in a caramel leather. These chairs are surprisingly comfortable.

Good price on the first one, since about 5 years ago, we bought a pair of these for about $700 each. They are black leather and amazingly comfortable and very popular in our home. Everyone loves to sit in these chairs.

My brother has similar swivel chairs but super high end (they had an interior decorator do their whole house over the course of three years) and they are really cute but not comfortable.

Also, swivel chairs are REALLY trendy right now, so I'd worry about them looking dated in a year or two. I think the West Elm ones will look stylish for longer.

I had the opposite experience with these, we sold them after a year because the seat had no padding at all.
