The Gan at Adas Israel

Does anyone have any feedback on this school for a 4 yr old with SN? Thanks.

I would not send my SN child to the Gan. I considered it for our child and once I learned that the school has certain policies that basically ensure that SN kids are singled out and identified, rather than integrated properly, I chose not to send our child there.

Thank you for responding. I'm wondering if you can elaborate? Is it just that a child takes a "spec needs spot" or is there something more? My son currenly has an SN spot in an integrated classroom, and the parents and children know who the SN children are (they are the ones pulled out for therapy, etc) but the teachers otherwise do a decent job of integrating all the children. I'm curious what the "policies" are that single out the SN children at the Gan. Thank you so much - this is one of the few schools with spots (we are applying late, we know) so it's one consideration on our list.

Thank you.

Small, nurturing environment that works depending on special need. The environment did not work well for our child 'with needs'.

I know from a friend's experience that if your child is going to be sent to school with a shadow, the school sends a letter to ALL the parents in the class notifying them of your child's shadow. I find that disgraceful.
