Ashley Madison ad: Are you kidding me?

Anonymous
I went to a workshop this weekend about internet porn and cheating, where they showed this advertisement for Ashley Madison. I nearly fell over in my chair!

Have we really come to this point as a society?

After reading some of the filthy sex threads here, apparently yes, we are that society.

I take it you hadn't heard of Ashley Madison before?
I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure it's mostly full of men along with a few escorts looking for clients. In other words, if someone wants to cheat, this website probably won't get it done for them.

Workshop for porn? where do I sign up? And you bumped this, seriously? I guess not a lot of bumping otherwise going on in your house.

Yeah I didn't understand the bump. This website has been out for a while.

Been out for the while.

CEO and his wife disagreeing live on TV:

CEO alone speaking:

CEO admitting its purely entrepreneurial and not for his family:

We are not kidding you OP. We are in that day and age. See the movie Men Women and Children

OP here. The workshop I attended was related to my work (teaching, counseling). It's not that I'd never heard of A-M, Tinder, etc., but I was admittedly surprised by this ad.

I think I naively assumed married people cheating (which obviously has existed forever) would be kept more under wraps and not so openly celebrated in an ad on network TV. It sounds like I might be in the minority about that, so you all have enlightened me.

AM is a scam. It's there to talk men out of their money with AM "Angels" and hookers. The Angels are hired by AM to set up fake profiles and contact men. The men have to pay to read/respond. It's a tax on the stupid, desperate and horny.

I disagree, I paid for the minimum membership $80 and made sure the people I sent messages to were in my general area and had profiles that were not canned. Of the 10 messages I sent, 8 got back to me. I met 4 for lunch and got intimate with 2. Let one of them go and after 2 years still with the other.

I'm sure there are some successes, but the Angels and prostitues are very real. The Angels are described in their user agreement.

So what? We just quickly sift through the scams and eventually find what we were looking for. Men have always been willing to pay a modest tax for being stupid and horney. This is just a cost of doing business for us.
